February is absolutely my favorite month in Peru! It is the least crowded with tourists, giving us the opportunity to spend time surrounded only by wild nature, without the noise of other travelers.

The landscapes are at their most lush and vibrant, and the weather is warm and pleasant! Although rain is frequent, it typically lasts only for a short time, usually just a few minutes.

Responsible Travel

  • Peru is rich in sacred and historical sites. Treat them with the utmost respect.

  • Follow all rules and guidelines at sites like Machu Picchu, Cusco, and other archaeological sites.

  • Refrain from climbing on or touching ancient structures and artifacts.

  • In many rural and indigenous communities, modest dress is appreciated.

  • Cover shoulders and knees when visiting religious or sacred places.

  • Buy handicrafts and products from local artisans and markets.

  • Avoid bargaining too aggressively; fair prices help sustain local communities.

  • Always ask permission before taking photos of people, especially in indigenous communities.

  • Some sacred sites and ceremonies may prohibit photography.

  • Use refillable water bottles to reduce plastic waste.

  • When sharing your travel experiences online, provide accurate and respectful portrayals of the people and places you visit.

  • Avoid geotagging sensitive or lesser-known sites to prevent over-tourism.
